Our first stop takes us to the majestic volcano, where you’ll have the opportunity to hike to the top with our knowledgeable tour escort. Marvel at the volcanic landscape as you ascend, a moderate amount of physical activity is required. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, a sun hat, and bringing a bottle of water to stay refreshed during the 1.30-hour hike. Don’t forget your camera to capture the awe-inspiring views!
Next, we’ll make our way to the hot springs, a natural wonder renowned for its therapeutic waters. Spend 30 minutes swimming in the rejuvenating sulfur-rich waters, but remember, you’ll need to swim approximately 30-40 meters to reach the shore, so basic swimming skills are required.
As the sun begins to set, we’ll anchor near Thirasia Bay, where you’ll indulge in a delightful dinner on board. Feast on a mouthwatering menu that includes chicken fillet in mustard sauce with vegetables, meatballs in red tomato sauce, rice, boiled vegetables, bread, Greek salad, tzatziki (a traditional Greek sauce with yogurt, garlic, and cucumber), seasonal fruits, and Chalvas (a Greek dessert). Savor the flavors of Greece as you dine against the backdrop of the serene Thirasia Bay.
Prepare for a truly magical moment as we set sail for Thirasia Island to witness the mesmerizing Santorini sunset from the best vantage point, the village of Oia. As we make our way back to the port, the party begins! Get ready to dance and celebrate the night with our energetic boat party. Our tour escort will teach you how to dance the Syrtaki, a traditional Greek dance made famous in the movie “Zorba the Greek.” Join in the fun and show off your moves as you dance around the boat’s bar. We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.
You’ll need to swim approximately 30-40 meters to reach the shore, so basic swimming skills are required. Bring your own towels and avoid wearing silver jewelry as it may oxidize due to the sulfur. For the best experience, opt for dark-colored swimsuits to prevent staining.
The main difference between the “with pick up” and “without pick up” options is the starting point of the tour and the convenience of transportation.
With the “without pick up” option, the tour begins from the old port of Fira. To reach the port, clients have two choices: taking the cable car (which costs 6 euros per way) or walking down the 600 steps, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the port, clients will need to locate our office, Santo Star – Old Port, where our representative will exchange their tickets and guide them to the ship. It’s important to note that the port is not accessible by any kind of transportation, so clients must first park their vehicles (if they have one) in one of the two parking lots in Fira. From there, they can either head to the cable car station or take the path that leads down to the old port.
On the other hand, the “with pick up” option offers added convenience. Clients opting for this choice will skip the old port of Fira, and their starting point will be the Athinios port. The pick-up time will vary depending on the chosen pick-up point. With this option, clients will not need to take the cable car or walk down any steps. Upon arrival at Athinios port, they will be divided into groups based on their chosen language, and the tour will commence.
Unfortunately no. We have specific pick up points and you can choose the one that is closest from your hotel. If you are not sure which one is it, just provide us your hotel name and we will do the rest!
We highly recommend wearing comfortable hiking shoes for the volcano tour, as the steep paths can be challenging to walk on. Additionally, it’s essential to come prepared with a hat, sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a pair of towels for the hot springs. Please refrain from wearing any jewelry during your swim in the hot springs, as the sulfur present in the waters may cause oxidation. Your comfort and safety are our utmost priority, so ensuring you have the necessary items will enhance your overall experience.
Children of all ages are more than welcome to our excursion and this beautiful boat tour has no age limitations whatsoever. The excursion, however, involves a lot of physical activities and exposure to high temperature degrees at the volcano hike and quick water temperature shifts at the hot springs, so it is advised to participate in all these exciting activities if you are in a good physical condition.
You can change your scheduled boat tour date up until 24 hours before the beginning of the excursion.
A full refund will be issued in case of a cancellation prior to the 24h deadline. Any other cancellation that will occur at a time of less than 24 hours before the start of the excursion will not be refunded.
